The Parlour
Celebrations within the Parlour will enjoy an exceptional atmosphere lit by glistening candles highlighting the rich red wall hangings in this superb room. The Parlour was once the room from which the Lord Mayor of York, Alderman William Snawsell resided over his business affairs and the furnishings recreated here reflect the high status of this important citizen of York in the 15th century.

The Great Hall
Both ceremonies and receptions can be held in this remarkable high-beamed room which is dressed with hand painted hangings and features a decorative medieval tiled floor. Your ceremony will certainly be one that you and guests remember for years to come if you select this striking setting for your celebration

The Gallery
If you chose to celebrate your ceremony and reception at Barley Hall, you may want to choose the Gallery as a venue for your welcome drinks at no extra charge. The Gallery features windows that overlook the Great Hall and is located next to the Parlour on the first floor. We will decorate the Gallery with greenery and candles for your Welcome Drinks; however it can be themed to match your package using choices from “Additional Inspiration”

The Gallery can also be used to take your photographs both before and after your ceremony, as can the courtyard area outside Barley Hall.
