Booking and Contact

We want to ensure that your wedding is enjoyable from start to finish, and aim to take care of your every need. With that in mind, we welcome initial enquiries and encourage you to visit and talk to us as soon as possible about your personal requirements.

We have devised a simple checklist and booking form to assist you with your planning.

Check List

  1. Call our Wedding Coordination team on 01904 610275 to make an appointment to visit Barley Hall at your earliest convenience.
  2. Discuss with us proposed dates and times for your celebration so that we can pencil in a proposed date for your event
  3. Secure the Registrar for your required date prior to booking Barley Hall
  4. Call your Wedding Coordinator to firmly secure your booking
  5. Decide if you wish to celebrate your ceremony, reception or both with us
  6. Decide on the number of guests you intend to invite to your ceremony and / or reception
  7. Select your package
  8. Select any supplementary requirements from our “Additional Inspiration“ ideas
  9. Select your drinks packages
  10. Select your catering package and menu. Note any alternative dietary requirements
  11. Fill out your booking form and return it to Barley Hall with a non-refundable deposit of £100.00. Cheques made payable to York Archaeological Trust please. Please note that your wedding is not confirmed until your booking form and deposit are received.
  12. Continue to liaise with your wedding coordinator in the run-up to your celebration, advising of any changes in numbers or requirements.
  13. An invoice will be produced 10 days prior to your wedding. All invoices must be settled within 5 working days.

Terms and Conditions

Cancellation Charges

Cancellation Charges are based on the estimated total cost of the event and according to the following scale:

1. Weddings cancelled within 12 to 4 weeks of the date booked will be liable to a charge of 50% of the total invoice.

2. Weddings cancelled within 4 weeks of the date booked will be liable to a charge of 100% of the total invoice (less any deposit paid)

3. In regard to the catering cost only - A charge will be levied when final numbers for events drop below 60% of the original anticipated at the time of the confirmation of the booking, unless we are notified accordingly 16 weeks prior to the event.  This charge will equate to 60% of the lost revenue.

We shall always do our best to re-hire the allocated space at Barley Hall and in the event of a successful re-hire a reduction in the cancellation charge may be made.
