up for battle in a combined workshop with the Next Generation
Nova Team. After training, mini Vikings are invited

The
Battlefield at Fulford The Bay Horse pub, Fulford
(on the A19, just south of York)

On the morning of Wednesday, September 20, 1066, the
northern Anglo-Saxon army left York to combat the Norwegian
invaders. Join the walk to the battlefield at Fulford
where this army tried, and failed, to block King Harald
Hardrada. Chas Jones, author of 'The Forgotten Battle
of 1066, Fulford', will describe the battle on a
landscape that has altered little since Viking times.
Wear walking clothes and stout footwear.
Combat through the Ages! Festival marquee, St. Sampson's

Drop in for the morning or the afternoon to see a
display of weapons from the movies with Magnus the
Armourer, as well as live presentations of combat
through the ages by the warriors of the Royal Armouries,

roaming warriors telling tales of battle and adventure.
A selection of Hollywood weaponry will also be on display
in the JORVIK galleries, with a master armourer on hand
