Viking Journeys: Community
banners and stories
Local community groups will be working with poet Adrian
Spendlow to compose their own stories of contemporary
journeys inspired by the sagas of our Viking ancestors.
Led by a visual artist, the groups will paint banners
to illustrate the stories, and, as in previous Viking
Festivals, these will decorate the big marquee in
St Sampson's Square during the festival.
There will be public workshops on Feb 16th to create
more stories and banners.
An Arts Action York Community Project.
