You are invited to enter the JORVIK Viking Festival 2008 ‘Design a Warrior’ Competition. Entrants are asked to enter a picture, painting or collage of a warrior either from the past, present or future to win one of our star prizes. The best thirty entries will be invited to a special prize-giving at the launch of the Viking Festival on Wednesday 13th February, with TV presenter Dan Snow. All winning and highly commended entries will be displayed in our Festival marquee for the duration of the Festival launch. The overall winner in each category will be invited to have lunch with a Viking on the Festival launch day. There are three age categories (7 and under, 8-11, 12-16) and the deadline for entries is January 14th.

Terms and Conditions:
The ‘Design a Warrior’ competition is open to anyone up to the age of 16 living in the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Please do not send entries by email. Only one entry per person. Please make sure that a parent or guardian knows that you are entering the competition. Ensure that your contact details, name and age are all clearly entered on the reverse of your entry. This competition is not open to employees of the York Archaeological Trust and their immediate family members. The prize-giving will take place on Wednesday 13th February. Entrants should make sure that they would be able to come to York with a parent or guardian on this date. Prizes not exchangeable for cash.
