JORVIK

Jorvik 'ghosts'JORVIK is one of the UK's leading attractions built on the site of the last major excavation undertaken by the York Archaeological Trust. In 1976 work began on a site in Coppergate; five years later the excavation concluded after unearthing a mass of information about what life was like in Viking-Age York.

At JORVIK not only can you see over 400 artefacts from the excavation but you can also travel through the reconstructed Viking-Age city and talk to 'Vikings' about what life would have been like over 1,000 years ago.

If you think you have seen JORVIK before, think again, and visit again. In 2007 Are you a Viking? comes to JORVIK – a brand new exhibition that explores whether you could have Viking ancestors.

Opening Times: 10am to 5pm Monday to Sunday

Cost
Adults - £8.50
Concession - £7.00
