Visiting

Site visitDuring the five years of the excavation there will be many opportunities to visit the site, watch archaeologists at work and see our history being unearthed as it actually happens.

Visitors will be able to tour the site, get 'hands on' experience of some of the finds, explore exhibitions, take part in workshops, activities and events, and find out more about the unique heritage of York.

A full programme of guided tours, school and community-based activities is available.

See Guided Tours for more details.

Dig Hungate is part of the Hungate (York) Regeneration scheme, creating a new Hungate community whilst its past is revealed.
