York Archaeological Trust is a registered charity dedicated to the education of the public in archaeology. In addition to the depiction of Viking life for which JORVIK has become world famous, the Trust also carries out excavation and research in order to gain a greater understanding of the past. This work allows a fuller understanding of life and events in the past and how they influence the world we live in today.

In addition to the depiction of Viking life for which JORVIK has become world famous, the Trust also carries out excavation and research in order to gain a greater understanding of the past. This work allows a fuller understanding of life and events in the past and how they influence the world we live in today.

This work is time consuming and requires a high degree of skill and expertise. Some of this work is funded from the Trust's own internal resources. However, there are always more projects than we can fund and we are not always able to put on the displays we would like.

If you would like to make a donation to further our projects you can send a cheque to York Archaeological Trust, Donations, Cromwell House, Ogleforth, York YO1 7FG
