JORVIK Viking Centre is a multi-sensory visitor experience that incorporates sights, sounds, smells and touch elements within the attraction.

Our costumed Viking hosts can provide one-to-one interaction with visitors and we are more than happy to tailor your visit to your individual needs.

If you have any questions regarding the facilities that we offer our visitors, please call our reservations department on 01904 615505.

Hearing Impaired

We have three ride capsules available that are installed with a hearing loop. (This covers all six seats in the capsule). A written version of the commentary is also available to ensure you get the most out of your visit.

Mobility Impaired

Due to health and safety regulations, only one wheelchair user can be in JORVIK at any one time. Wheelchair users must be booked in advance to avoid having to wait by calling our Reservations department on 01904 615505.

A lift is available for all visitors. We also have a wheelchair accessible toilet.

Please note: There are size and weight limitations for the ride experience.

Visually Impaired

A large print transcription of the ride commentary is available, as is a braille guide for the Artefacts Alive gallery. Guide dogs are welcome in the centre, although the ride may make some dogs nervous.

Claustrophobia

JORVIK is an underground attraction. If this is a concern for you, a member of staff will accompany you downstairs so you can get a feel for the museum before processing your admission.

After you get an impression of what it is like and our staff have answered any queries you may have, they will take you back to the admissions desk where you can decide whether or not you wish to continue your visit.

Plus size visitors

Some visitors that are of a plus size may experience difficulty in experiencing the ride section of the attraction. This is due to the safety lapbars on the capsules needing to be fully engaged, to operate the ride'.
