The Fearsome Craftsmen exhibition is a rich display of a
range of tools and crafts that date back to the Viking era,
among them replicas of actual finds from the Coppergate
dig that visitors can handle themselves.
Artefacts Alive
Four Viking ghosts haunt the next exhibition on the tour
– Artefacts Alive! The Artefacts gallery is dimly lit,
with illuminated reconstructions of the interiors of houses
and workshops, and touchscreen kiosks providing in-depth
insight into the everyday lives of residents of Viking York.
